This is an instant messenger exchange between myself, and an old friend of mine from Akron, Ohio, which is where I lived until I graduated from college. After I graduated from college, I moved to Austin, Texas, which is where I live now.
Shawn: MJ, sometimes people treat you pretty unfairly considering how much good you do and everything. I want you to know you have my support and I bet you several thousand people feel the same way I do. You’re my hero MJ! If you ever need my help you tell me. Heartbeat, it’s done.
MJ: Thank you for the nice words of support and loyalty. I knew when we started putting Masters of Money out there, that at least somebody somewhere wouldn’t like it, but that’s okay. Not everybody has to like everything we do. That said, I just found out Masters of Money’s Facebook page is #1 in the world, in our business category, so I have a feeling we are at least doing a few things right.
Shawn: I will never forget what you did for my family and you didn’t even tell anybody about it to brag and stuff. You know what I’m saying. You didn’t try to make yourself look good. You just did it to do it. Anything you do anywhere any how I support it. I don’t care if you sell cheeseburgers at McDonald’s, that’s where I’m getting my hamburgers.
MJ: Would you like fries with that? Just kidding. I guess I’m just trying to be like my Dad, who one time found cash outside of a Gold circle store and turned it into the lost and found at the store!!!! Hopefully someday I will have even 50% of my dad’s heart, honesty and compassion.
Shawn: You do. “MJ The Terrible” isn’t you. That was just who you had to be to help the people who needed you to be that. Give yourself a break. No one is perfect.
MJ: For the last several years my life has been hell, and what you said is very true in the fact that I just did what I had to do, because for some reason I am either dumb, gullible, or just can’t stand by and watch good people get run over. Honest confession- I did a lot of what I did because I wanted to get all of the bad things out of the way, so when my son got old enough to start activities at school, I could be there for him, and be the best dad I could be.
Shawn: Was I right or was I right? See I told you.
MJ: I’m smiling right now, because pretty soon I’m going to be announcing the retirement of “MJ The Terrible”, because I have had more than enough wake-up calls at this point. I fixed the problems that needed to be fixed, and this week I found out that I’ll be able to make up for some lost time with my son, and from here on out, until I take my last breath and my heart beats for the last time, my son Christian is and will be my main focus!
Shawn: Good stuff. Are you still going to do MOMs(Masters of Money)?
MJ: Yes, I’m still going to be working, but for the first time in the last few years, I will be able to spend as much time as I want with my boy, without all of the craziness. I’m really looking forward to it.
Shawn: Then what are you talking to me for?
MJ: Point made my friend. Have a nice weekend. Stay in touch. All my best, MJ
